Compiled by Radif Partners from the CMS landscape file of September 2026 · How the data is read

Missouri has 113 Medicare Advantage plans open to anyone with Parts A and B for 2027, up from 109 in 2026, against the national trend. 79 of the 101 drug-covering plans charge a $0 premium, and caps are relatively low: the lowest is $2,000, for Humana Community (HMO-POS) at $0, and the median $5,500, below the national $6,550. St. Louis County, St. Charles and Jefferson list 46 open plans each, St. Louis City 45; Jackson County, around Kansas City, 36. At the bottom, Clark County lists 7. Every one of the 115 counties and St. Louis City has at least one plan. Humana Inc., CVS Health Corporation, UnitedHealth Group, Inc., Devoted Health, Inc. file the most plans, and 69 plans carry four stars or more. 9 stand-alone drug plans are sold, from $5.30 a month.

A market that grew for 2027

Most states lost open plans between 2026 and 2027; Missouri gained 4. Humana Inc. (30), CVS Health Corporation (26), UnitedHealth Group, Inc. (20), Devoted Health, Inc. (17), Lumeris Group Holdings Corporation (8), Health Care Service Corporation (3) file the most segments, Devoted Health being a newer entrant built around its own care teams. More plans is not automatically better: each new plan comes with its own network, and a low cap only helps if your doctors are in it.

St. Louis and Kansas City, then the Ozarks

Jefferson (46 open plans, 26 at $0), St. Charles (46 open plans, 26 at $0), St. Louis (46 open plans, 26 at $0), St. Louis City (45 open plans, 26 at $0) have the widest choice. Jackson County lists 36, with a lowest cap of $2,800. Residents of the Kansas City area who use hospitals on the Kansas side should check each plan's network across the state line. Clark (7), Scotland (7), Dunklin (10) have the shortest lists, where PPOs and the few private fee-for-service plans (2 in Missouri) fill the gap.

Two regions, one state line

Kansas City straddles two states, and so do its health systems. A Missouri resident joins plans filed for his or her Missouri county, but the plan's network can include hospitals in Kansas; the reverse holds for Kansans. The same applies around St. Louis with the Illinois side of the metro area.

Ratings and special needs plans

Missouri also lists 61 special needs plans, 34 for people with MO HealthNet, the state Medicaid program, 18 for chronic conditions and 9 for nursing-home residents. Neighbors: Kansas, Illinois, Arkansas.
