Compiled by Radif Partners from the CMS landscape file of September 2026 · all North Carolina counties and drug plans

The plans that left Charlotte

Among the 12 2026 IDs missing for 2027 are a Wellcare giveback PPO, an AARP UnitedHealthcare PPO, an Aetna Signature Care HMO, a Blue Medicare Choice HMO and two HumanaChoice PPOs. Some members were moved by their insurer to a successor plan; others must choose by December 7. The list at the bottom of this page gives every ID.

Two health systems, one county

Charlotte's care is split largely between two large hospital systems, and plans differ on which one they contract with. Before choosing even the best-rated plan, check that your primary care doctor and the hospital you would use are in its network for 2027; an HMO pays nothing for routine care outside it. A PPO is the safer pick if your doctors work in both systems, at the cost of a higher cap in most cases on this list.
